I was going to stay with my friend JT, but her house is
a hoarders-tv-show-quality sty, and so I got farmed off
on her father-in-law, who was the head of Marine Corps
procurement in the Korean War and is incredibly tidy given
he's 95 years old. I feel like I'm dirtying everything.

They're both perfectly fine people.

The other issue is the antibiotics persisting in wastewater
and so on so there's plenty of opportunity for other microbes
to become resistant.

Steve sent me to a site that indicated that the shepherd was
being a stupid brat; your explanation sounds like an anxiety
thing.

      Title: Fruit Preserve Bars
 Categories: Cookies, Preserve
      Yield: 20 servings

      1 c  Butter                            1/2 ts Almond Extract
      1 c  Brown Sugar, packed             1 1/2 c  Oats, uncooked
  1 1/2 c  Flour                               1 c  Fruit Preserves
    1/2 ts Baking Soda                       1/4 c  Sliced Almonds, toasted

  baking soda; mix well.  Blend in extract.  Stir in oats.  Spread mixture
  in bottom of greased 13x9 inch pan.  Spread with preserves to within 1/2
  inch of outer edge of pan.  Sprinkle with almonds.  Bake at 375 degrees
  for 22 to 25 minutes.  Cool and cut into bars.              Makes 20 bars
  Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  Grease 13x9 inch pan

  Note 1:  Experiment with different flavor combinations of extract, nuts and
  preserves.

  Note 2:  Oats can be old-fashioned or quick, but not instant.
