Might be useful to have the different stories to compare... does b-i-l
have any responsibility for him... or any influence...?  Can't blame you
for not much caring, after a while it just doesn't seem worth it... :)

So one might want to drive, if conditions were less than ideal, but
there isn't really a total necessity for driving...  :)  And probably
more people would do well to walk, given the opportunity... ;)
