That's about the picture. And no alley behind the house - that would make
things too easy. Instead there is a trailer park -- and I just don't see them
letting me cut a gate into their fence to get to my back yard.

That was the recipe as given. Which leaves out the cloves (normally found in
Quatre epices). Not to mention that the proportions are skewed with
waaaaaaaaaay too much white pepper. This is what I stock:

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: Quatre Épices
 Categories: Five, Spices
      Yield: 5 tablespoons

      2 tb Ground white pepper
      1 tb Ground ginger
      1 tb Ground nutmeg
      1 tb Ground cloves

  Stir the spices together and store in an airtight
  container in a cool, dark place.

  This quatre épices recipe makes 5 tablespoons or slightly
  less than 1/3 cup of spice mixture.
