==============
Hi Ruth,

-> RH> Ribbon roses? Or doesn't Steve manage that kind of stuff?

-> No, I don't know if his fingers are dexterous enough to make any. Then
-> too, he might surprise me and try it.

 RH> I'd advise using florist's ribbon or grosgrain instead of satin
 RH> though; satin's a pain.

Depends on who's working with what. I suspect grosgrain would be easier
as it's less slippery than silk. Then too, my cutting table has Santaa
shirt stuff spread out on it so he doesn't have much working room.

-> RH> The K cups cost two or three times as much as specialty teas, and
 RH> it's even worse on plain old black tea. You can also get those
 RH> refillable cups if you want to just pour some tea in those and see
 what happens.

-> We've got the refillable cups. What happens with loose tea is that it
-> doesn't have the space to expand/bloom the flavors in the small capacity
-> of the cups. I'll stick with my BB and Good Earth Original in bags, with
-> occaisional forays into other types.

 RH> Good idea. I did snag some K cups last Friday, but only because I
 RH> found Earl Gray on the markdown rack.

I don't like Earl Gray that much; the oil of bergomot is too strong for
me. Talking to a friend in church about tea--he likes the Earl Gray but
he spent several years studying in England. His wife got him to be a
coffee, as well as tea drinker tho.

-> RH> Got some today for free. I can handle free.

-> I can too--and at some point I'll start the Attic Windows you sent the
-> pieces for.

 RH> AFTER Christmas.(LOL)

After Christmas 2??? probably. I've got a lot of projects yet to work
on.

-> RH> Ever go really vintage and make one of the Hawiian applique quilts?

-> Been working on a small one off and on for some years, doing it by hand.
-> Had to give up when the carpal tunnel developed and haven't picked it up
-> since the surgery--too many other irons in the fire--but will,
-> eventually.

 RH> Hmmm, something else to teach Steve? A friend's hubby used to do all
 RH> her cutting. It's not that much of a stretch.

Steve is going to cut the Frosty Morning kit we got this past summer at
the Sewing and Quilting Expo down in Raleigh. He said he may sew it too
but I'll be happy if he just does the cutting. I don't want to cut if
he's going to--need one person to do it all for consistancey in
marking/measuring and then cutting. I do it slightly different than
Steve does so his cutting would not be the same size (if even minutely)
as mine.

-> RH> They might have it too, but I saw it in a big Walgreen's.

-> Nearest Walgreens is a ways away & they don't support our perscription
-> plan.

 RH> That lets them out. The CVS stores have the 85% most of the time.
 RH> It'll do.

I think we'll get it most often at Aldi's. Trader Joe's or similar
places.

-> -> We're winding down the search now, except for some 12mm light green
 RH> with brown malachite beads.

-> RH> Green and brown doesn't sound like malachite. I've seen the stone,
-> RH> but forget the proper name.

-> From my searching, I'm beginning to think it was aventurtine. Just
-> doesn't seem to be like even the lighter, synthetic malachites. If so,

 RH> Adventurine is often pretty translucent. Something in the back of my
 RH> brain says chrysocolla, which is the family malachite belongs to. Not
 RH> all of them
 RH> have the stripes. Adventurine is mostly green, but you'll see some
 RH> orange too. If it's translucent, it could be in the chrysoprase family
 RH> too.

IIRC, it wasn't really translucent. Steve is thinking Howlight turquoise
but I don't think it's quite the same shade of green I'm looking for.
Aventuretine seems to fit, from what I've seen on line.

-> with about 4mm gold beads) as well.

 RH> I have an 8mm one with gold fill sitting here somewhere. Nothing that
 RH> big. -

What kind of stones? (Maybe we need to take this to email?)
