Allergies seem to be one of those evolutionarily bad things,
but maybe the disadvantages they convey are not sufficient to
prevent procreation; and possibly they might convey some
arcane benefit that we are not currently aware of.

Reminds me of the transition days between full-service flying
and the current streamlined costs-cut-to-the-bone model (with me,
everything ends up focusing on air travel). Well, I ordered the
lactose-free meal, which turned out to be identical to the vegan,
hindu, bland, and gluten-free meals and possibly qualified for a
couple other designations as well. The caterers (LSG Sky Chefs,
darn them) seemed to figure that they could stock one product to
take care of all the troublemakers once and for all.

If I were allergic to nuts, I wouldn't have any friends.

I'll read books, if they're free (and easy to find, and in big
print).

 Our son had pots and pans to play with, but

Probably a similar motivation to mine - I want to eat it,
nobody else will fix it, I'll make it myself.

Applesauce Cookies OSG1966
Categories: Cookies         
Yield: 1 batch

1 c Applesauce - unsweetened
1 c Sugar
1/2 c Butter and lard
1  Egg
2 c Flour
1 c Raisins - chopped
1 c Nut meats
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Cloves
1/4 ts Salt

Combine ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased
cookie sheets. Bake in 375F oven till done.
