I suppose it could be worse - they might have waited on the surgery. 
A friend's had to live with the constant nagging back pain for close to six 
years now.  It's bad enough to hurt, but not bad enough to cut.

Their neighborhood got cold. A little further north got the snow they were 
predicting.  For Memorial Day, for pity's sake.
