Not to mention that to get a margarine that tastes as good as butter one 
has to spend nearly as much money on it. The only reason I can see to do 
margarine is if one is keeping Kosher and cannot use dairy with meat. 
Even then schmaltz is usually a better choice.   Bv)=

I scored 10# of butter at the new Ruler Foods (Kroger owned warehouse 
bag your own style market) for U$1.49/lb. Got 5# unsalted in blocks and 
5# regular in quarters. The clerk inquired with her manager about limits 
and I had to point out that there was no signage nor notice in the 
advertising flyer ... which may be changed by now. But, I'm home and dry 
with a good deal.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Salami & Eggs
 Categories: Beef, Eggs
      Yield: 3 Servings
 
      2 tb Parve margarine or schmaltz
      2 sm Onions; chopped
      6 oz (150 g) salami; cubed
      6 lg Eggs; lightly beaten
           Fresh ground black pepper
           Fresh chives; chopped
 
  In a skillet, melt schmaltz or margarine over low heat.
  
  Add onions. Saute over medium heat until translucent.
  
  Stir in salami.
  
  Pour eggs over salami and onions. Stir over low heat
  until soft curds form. Be sure to remove from heat
  before the eggs get dry.
  
  Season with pepper.
  
  Garnish with chives, and serve with toasted bagel.
