Quite.  Pigs are ubiquitous out that way, so I guess they figure Allah 
wouldn't have put all that bacon there if the locals weren't meant to eat 
it.

If it tastes good, all bets are off.  I got a singularly unpleasant
surprise 
this evening.  Some buffalo wings turned up in the kosher case in the 
supermarket, ridiculously cheap.  I found out why - they hadn't removed all 
the pin feathers from the wings before cooking and applying sauce. They 
tasted OK, but I'm not fond of eating around feathers still left in my 
chicken.  My farm-raised grandmother would tan the hides of anyone caught 
being that sloppy.
