-> -> RH> the brocades I bought, but one of these centuries they may make
a
-> ->  RH> heckuva quilt.
->
-> -> Sounds nice; I've got to go fabric shopping for some more practical
-> -> fabric (diaper bag/lining, baby blanket backing) and one splurge--a
-> -> shirt for a little boy.
->
-> RH> I've got more than I know what to do with. Not the shirts, but the
->  RH> rest.
->
-> More fabric or more projects? I've got a small stash of fabrics to make
-> me clothes but the above stuff is for gifts.
->
Yes. It just sort of collects around me like junk around a black hole.

-> -> mess up a bunch of dishes (knife, cutting board, etc) cutting other
-> -> cheeses late at night. Don't want the dirty dishes at that hour,
don't
-> -> want to do dishes at that hour either.
->
-> RH> Me neither, but it doesn't taste like enough to bother eating it.
->
-> As I said, it's a easy protein to counter balance carbs. I don't buy it
-> for the great taste. It's better than plastic cheezoid stuff tho.

I suppose as emergency food. I usually keep some of those protein bars
around for the purpose.

-> RH> In other words, he's turning into me? I have heavy duty insoles in
-> RH> mine for the plantar fasciatis, i.e. preventing flare-ups, and keep
a
->  RH> cane around.
->
-> He's going to get orthotics thru the VA which should help. It'll get
-> better for a bit, then he'll do something to make it flare up again.
-> Can't keep him off his feet entirely; he needs some activity every once
-> in a while. He's making cheese straws right now.

Can he soak the bad one at least, sometimes? Or would that take more
physical effort than either of you can handle right now?

-> RH> No seriously cool early 60s stuff for you then? Oh well. I do
have
-> RH> some 50s stuff around, but it's menswear. Womens' clothing my size
->  RH> doesn't survive.
->
-> Haven't found any early 60s stuff. I'm in a size that's so common that
-> probably most of the stuff was worn, passed down/around, pure worn out.
-> Besides, I'm not a mini skirt wearer any more. (G)

Oh well. The minis came later; I'm talking Kennedy era stuff. Us plus-
sized types had a tough time finding nice clothes back when, and we still
tend to wear it out rather than keep looking for something new that's not
on
the rack. I did almost luck into a dress today in a charity store, but it
was cut "down to there" and for a miracle the sleeves were too long. I
thin
it was made for someone six feet tall. If it had fit better I might have
tried messing with that crazy modal knit or whatever it was, but no such
luck.

-> RH> It's possible; they used to put real cameos in all sorts of places.
->  RH> Intaglio
-> RH> man's head or light colored lady on an orange background? The
-> RH> intaglios were more common in menswear.
->
-> I think it was a lady's head but yes, a red/orange background.

That's either a shell cameo or a simulant. No way to be sure without
seeing
it.

-> RH> Sounds it. I don't have anything like that around here, just some
-> RH> sterling and eilat stone pieces. I keep my eyes peeled though, just
in
->  RH> case.
->
-> OK, what is eilat stone? One piece taken was a 6 armed silver menorah
-> charm, another was a double sided widow's mite/Roman glass charm (round,
-> held together with a gold band)--acquired both at The Jesus Boat museum.
-> That's where I picked up an Israeli cook book too. (G)

Dark green and black, chrysocolla family. Also called Solomon's Stone.
It's
mined out in Israel although there are deposits of similar stone elsewhere.
Are you sure, btw, that it was a six-armed menorah and not seven? Seven is
the standard for a Temple lamp. A Hanukkah candle holder has nine - eight
and the "helper". The Widow's Mite pieces and Roman Glass jewelry are both
available in the US if you know where to look, but I've never seen a
double-
sided pendant. Not that I've looked. Israeli candy and snack food yes,
Roman glass pendants with coins on the back not so much.
