It was our absent moderator who opined this, and the conference
has taken it as a tenet for a decade or more. Perhaps I should
write it into the echo rules, but everyone understands it as
easy as breathing, so it's probably not necessary.

The mushroom mac and cheese was probably the best mac and
cheese I have ever tasted, though I say so who shouldn't.
The bacon mac and cheese might have been better, but I was
working and didn't steal a taste of it before it left the
kitchen. When I went out to load a plate, there was half
a tray left, so I saved room for it later, but when I went
to load my plate again, both macs and cheese had shuffled
off, so I made do with a big helping of dirty rice.

Sour cream is a terrific thing. I might do that for tomorrow
when Anne's housekeeper Kathy is bringing her with her for an
early New Year's Eve dinner. I of course have leftover bbq
beef unsauced and will saute an onion and blop sour cream
over the mess and serve it either over homemade or nonhomemade
noodles. Yum, pill time. One of the best stroganoffs I ever
had was at Red Square, a pseudo-Russian bar/restaurant/den of
iniquity in Las Vegas - it was just this, nothing more, and
it was totally delicious. Of course, it's hard to make a bad
stroganoff (unless you omit meat or sour cream). Even the
following doesn't look that awful to me:

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.00

      Title: Stroganoff Sandwich
 Categories: Cheese, Main dish, Beef
      Yield: 6 servings

      1 ea French bread; loaf, unsliced
      2 t  Onion; grated
      1 c  Sour cream
      1 x  Salt & pepper; to taste
      1 ea Green pepper; bell, *
  1 1/2 lb Ground beef; lean
  1 1/2 c  Cheddar, md. sharp, grated
      1 t  Worcestershire sauce
      2 ea Tomatoes; md. chopped

  *     Seed and chop 1 medium Green Bell Pepper.
  
  Slice the bread lengthwise.  Lightly butter the bread and
  wrap in foil. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes.  Brown the meat
  and drain the excess fat.  Add the onion, and cook until the onion is
  transparent. Remove from the heat and add the sour cream,
  worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Remove the bread from the oven
  and spread the meat mixture on each half. Arrange the chopped
  tomatoes and chopped green pepper on top of the meat mixture and top
  with the grated cheese. Place back in the oven and bake only until
  the cheese is melted. Serve hot. Source unknown
