So we're encountering some issues down here.

First, the host of our today's party at the Jumbo
Seafood on Dempsey Hill (chosen as it's a location
we haven't been but of a chain we've had good luck
with over the years) is reported to have decamped
to New York this morning. Whether this has anything
to do with the following, I'm not sure. I hope it's
not a family emergency or anything. And I hope he
didn't cancel the reservation.

Meanwhile, he's the guy for whom I got a bottle of
Havana Club Anejo, which I don't otherwise want, so
I'm stuck with a bottle of Cuban rum that I don't
want, poor me.

After Singapore, a bunch of us are supposed to be
heading to various places in Thailand - Lilli and I
to the north, others to the south islands. Well,
there's been a general strike of some kind in
Bangkok, and there are various reports of the air
traffic control potentially being shut down, plus
numerous press releases from the beleaguered
government saying, be calm, all is under control.
Now Singapore is not a bad place to be stuck, only
hotels cost 3x what they do up north. We'll see
what we'll see. The protests in Bangkok have begun
to heat up in a violent way; our only involvement
is that we have to change airplanes there, but the
airport is 25 km away from downtown, which should
provide a buffer. The protestors, according to some
news articles, have pledged not to interfere with
air travel, but they have also said that they were
going to blockade the entrance to the air traffic
control offices.

Could be a lot worse, as natural disasters and
armed revolutions are not unknown here; we've to
date dodged all of these, so what's a little unrest
here and there?

      8    Chinese-Style Red Or Black
           -Tea Bags Or:
    1/4 c  Regular Black Tea
      4 c  Boiling Water
           Ground Cinnamon
    1/2 c  Sweetened Condensed Milk

  Place tea in a teapot; pour water over tea.  Let steep for 5 minutes. Pour
  into 4 cups.  To each serving, add a dash of ground cinnamon and about 2
