      Title: Kahl.a Pie

      Yield: 6 servings
 
  1 1/4 c  Whipping cream
      2 tb Sugar
      4    Egg yolks; lightly beaten
    1/2 c  Sugar
      2 oz (squares) semisweet
           - chocolate
    1/4 c  Lukewarm water
      1    Envelope of unflavored
           - gelatin
    1/4 c  Cold water
    1/4 c  Kahl.a
      2    Egg whites
      9    Inch pie shell; baked and
           - cooled
           Chopped toasted almonds
 
  Beat the whipping cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar
  until stiff. Refrigerate.
  
  Combine the egg yolks and sugar in top of double
  boiler. Place over simmering water. Cook and stir
  until sugar is dissolved.
  
  Melt the chocolate in the microwave in a glass
  measuring cup (90 seconds on high; allow to sit for 1
  minute; stir to smooth), add 1/4 cup lukewarm water to
  the cup and again stir until smooth. Stir the melted
  chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture.
  
  Continue to cook mixture in double boiler, stirring
  constantly, until mixture thickens.
  
  Combine gelatin with 1/4 cup cold water. Add to
  thickened chocolate mixture. Stir well and remove from
  heat. Add Kahl.a. Place pan with mixture in a bowl of
  ice water to cool.
  
  Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. When chocolate
  mix cools and thickens, gently fold in half of the
  whipped cream, then fold in the egg whites.
  Refrigerate the remaining whipped cream.
  
  Pile chocolate mixture into the pie shell; chill. Top
  pie with remaining whipped cream and almonds.

      Title: Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownies
 Categories: Cookies, Desserts, Chocolate, Nuts
      Yield: 16 servings
 
    1/2 c  All-purpose flour
      1 tb Cocoa powder
           Pn salt
    1/2 c  Creamy peanut butter
      4 tb Butter; softened
    1/2 c  + 1 tb sugar
    1/2 c  Brown sugar; packed
      2    Eggs
      1 ts Vanilla extract
    1/2 c  Coarse chopped unsalted
           - peanuts
      1 c  Semi-sweet chocolate chips;
           - divided
 
  These are great for school lunch boxes, but who are we
  kidding? The kids will be lucky to get the crumbs.
  
  Preheat oven to 350XF. Grease an 8-inch square pan or
  Pyrex dish.
  
  Stir together the flour, cocoa and salt, and set aside.
  
  With an electric mixer, cream the peanut butter and
  butter until light and fluffy. Add the sugar and brown
  sugar, and continue beating. Add eggs, one at a time,
  beating well after each addition. Beat in the vanilla,
  then gradually add the flour mixture and continue
  beating until well incorporated.
  
  Stir the peanuts and 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips
  into the batter. Pour batter into prepared pan, and
  bake for 30 to 35 minutes until firm. Remove from oven
  and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
  over the surface of the hot brownies. Wait a few
  minutes, and then spread the softened chocolate
  evenly. Cool completely before cutting.
  
  Makes 16 2-inch brownies.
