Nor I... I don't think I'd even want to be a spectator for that.  I
don't mind being able to do normal things and not be recognized as a
foreigner (easier for me in Britain, etc, of course), but I'm not into
demonstrations anyway...  :)

Probably a western addition... but quite tasty...  :)

It's a show, after all...  Isn't it one of the premises, that Batali
gets demolished by some amateur...?  Was the dish assigned...?  She
should just have called it tom [whatever] goong...  :)

Our host yesterday was saying that his favorite Thai soup is the tom yum
goong.  We were served, though, as a freebie (apparently it's a lunch
deal), a chicken vegetable soup which was quite nice, tho not at all
spicy.  The chicken was crumbled, and a bit dry even in the soup... we'd
had a choice of vegetable or vegetable with chicken, another time I
might just go for the vegetable... no noodles or rice in it, just the
broth and the veggies and chicken...
