The worm sets the following registry entry in order to run itself on
system startup:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
TempCom
<path to worm>

W32/Traxg-C may modify the behaviour of Windows Explorer by making the
following additional registry changes:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

The worm may display a fake error message box containing the following
text:

Warning
This Folder Has Been Damage!

The worm may drop a file C:\FOLDER.HTT, also detected as W32/Traxg-C.
This file exploits the "Microsoft VM ActiveX Component" vulnerabilty,
associated with certain versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, to run
further executable code. This vulnerability allows an HTML-based script
to access the file system or registry without any of the usual security
restrictions placed on ActiveX controls. For further information see
Microsoft security bulletin MS00-075.

Side effects
    * Steals credit card details
    * Steals information
    * Reduces system security

Prevalence (1-5) 2

Description
Troj/Goldun-G is a password stealing Trojan that steals bank details and
sends them to a remote intruder.

Advanced
Troj/Goldun-G is a password stealing Trojan that steals bank details and
sends them to a remote intruder.

Usually the Trojan would be received by email with the filename
FOTO.RAR. This is an archive file which contains a file starting
FOTO.JPG followed by a large number of spaces and then an EXE extension.
This file displays a pornographic image and drops a file called
SVHOST.EXE to the Windows temp folder, also detected as Troj/Goldun-G.

SVHOST.EXE will then drop the main parts of the Trojan to the Windows
system folder as IESPRT.SYS and LSD_F3.DLL, before creating a service
called iesprt to run the SYS file on system startup and creating entries
in the registry under the following key so as to run the DLL on system
startup:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\f3dsl

W32/Rbot-SQ spreads using a variety of techniques including exploiting
weak passwords on computers and SQL servers, exploiting operating system
vulnerabilites (including DCOM-RPC and LSASS) and using backdoors opened
by other worms or Trojans.

W32/Rbot-SQ can be controlled by a remote attacker over IRC channels.

itself to the Windows system folder using a random name.

W32/Bobax-H sets the following registry entry in order to auto-start on
computer reboot:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

On computers running the Windows 9x Operating System the following
registry entry will also be created:

    * Steals information
    * Downloads code from the internet
    * Reduces system security
    * Modifies passwords
    * Records keystrokes

Prevalence (1-5) 2

Description
W32/Rbot-UW is an IRC backdoor Trojan and network worm.

W32/Rbot-UW may spread to remote network shares protected by weak
passwords and computers vulnerable to common exploits. The worm also
opens up a backdoor, allowing unauthorised remote access to infected
computers via the IRC network, while running in the background as a
service process.

W32/Rbot-UW can receive commands from a remote intruder to delete
network shares, log keypresses, participate in DDoS attacks, scan other
computers for vulnerabilities, steal passwords, steal registration keys
for computer games, create administrator accounts, terminate firewall
and anti-virus processes and capture video from webcameras attached to
the computer.

W32/Rbot-UW copies itself to the Windows system folder and sets the
following registry entries to run itself automatically on computer
login:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

Prevalence (1-5) 2

Description
W32/Sober-J is a variant of the W32/Sober mass mailing worms family for
the Windows platform that harvests email addresses from the infected
computer's hard drive.

W32/Sober-J checks the country origin by the comparing the domain
extension with those within a pre-defined list and will send its mail in
either English or German depending on the domain.

W32/Sober-J creates the following files in the Windows system folder.
Some of these files are used for storing harvested information and
others are encrypted and/or packed worm copies:

datamx.dam
dgsfzipp.gmx <text-ascii>
mail_text-info.
nonrunso.ber
Odin-Anon.Ger
read.me
sysmms32.lla

where text-ascii files contain base64 coded encrypted ZIP packed worm
copies.

W32/Sober-J copies itself to the Windows system folder as an EXE file
with a name that is constructed from the following strings:

32
crypt
data
diag
dir
disc
expoler
host
log
run
service
smss32
spool
sys
win

In order to be able to run automatically when Windows starts up
W32/Sober-J sets the registry entries:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\<random name> =
<random filename>

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\<random name> =
<random filename>

where random name is a string constructed from the list above (each
registry entry may have a different random name) and a random filename
corresponds to the worm copy filename.

W32/Sober-J checks the country origin by the comparing the domain
extension with ones from the folowing list:

.de, .ch, .at, .com, .gmx

In cases where the domain extension matches a German variant the email
language will be German, otherwise it will be English based.

W32/Sober-J may arrive in an email with the following characteristics:

If spread in German:

Subject line:

Ey du DOOF Nase, warum beantw...

Message body:

Winzip kleiner gemacht.
Lesen und diesmal auch bescheid geben!!!!

tschau.....

If spread in English:

Subject line:

I've got YOUR email on my account!!

Message body:

Hello,
First, Sorry for my very bad English!

Someone send your private mails on my email account!
I think it's an Mail-Provider or SMTP error.
Normally, I delete such emails immediately, but in the mail-text is a
name & adress. I think it's your name and adress.

In the last 8 days i've got 7 mails in my mail-box, but the recipient are
you, not me. lol

OK, I've copied all email text in the Windows Text-Editor and i've zipped
the text file with WinZip.
The sender of this mails is in the text file, too.

bye
