Probbaly more than you are paying by far.  The difference is he's paying for
what he uses and even at a higher rate, it's less in the overall.  Same thing
where I am.

My landline at home is used for only 2 things.  BBS calls and the rare DSN base
call to work (can use cell for that too, but it's slightly easier as one needs
not punch in the DSN<->local translation things needed for the switching
station.)

LOL, that reminds me.  No one in Japan can dial my BBS from the nodelisted
phone set without translation if they have a DSN line.  Had to email a friend
with the right number to use a bit ago.  The same would be true for anyone
worldwide with DSN access.  Have to laugh a bit as I'm actually 315-252-7330
but masked via switching station to what you see on the origin line.  I though
about (briefly) adding a second nodelisting just to show that but i dont think
many of us have DSN lines and there's no flag to support it (nor do I suggest
we add a flag for that).

I had lots of *fun* trying to make sure i had the number right that the rest of
you had to use to reach me.  They've upgraded something in the past week so I
need to remind myself to test dial Sweden and the Nederlands to see if i can
get a better connection there.  Sweden didnt work at all, Michiel did.  Not
sure if Michiel can direct dial me though (never asked him to try).  I think
he gets charged for a busy signal and since I BBS online, I tie up the line
quite a bit of the day.

(Michiel, if you see this and are *not* charged for a busy, and feel it is
worth a dime or so, wanna send me a test? Expect bouncing rates of connection.
 This is the military DSN<--->NTT switch which works for voice and has
variable data rates).
