True I think. Though, not always. I know most of the kids I went to school
with were fairly trim. They didnt stay that way, though it was more the women
who 'let go' after a child or 3.

The Docs told me to gain only 20 lbs, 30 tops. I sadly gained 80 (much of it
water) due to a back problem that had me largely unable to walk any distance
at all by the 7th month. Stayed fairly well in line til that happened. 20
lbs came off just withthe child and the 'other stuff'. 6 weeks later, I came
back to work only 5 lbs heavier than before getting pregnant. I had been very
ill due to a bad reaction (infection) after a C-section and was only cleared
to stand for 15 mins at a time, 3 days before returning to work. I have a
picture of me just before the back injury. Tiny person hiding behind HUGE
belly <g>.

Correct by all I have been taught.

Possibly. I dont think walking just one set (or 2) of stairs to get home helps
all that much. Now, stairs in the house might!

Now that would work really well!

Due to various health reasons of my husband, we now have a really nice
stationary exercise bike right in the spot we used to have the dining table.
I want to shift the freezer and move the bike there then bring back the table
but that has to wait (Don broke his foot 3 weeks ago and i cant safely shift
the freezer without him or the bike). Meantime, it's being used by Charlotte
and I to keep in shape while it's so hot outside. I do 10 mins before work,
and 15 after. Charlotte does 15 sometime around lunch. Don, before the foot
problem, did 20-30 a day most days, in addition to walking (normally with
Charlotte) some 4-6 miles a day.

Today he was so frustrated at not being 'out and about' he took a cab to the
post office then used his crutches to the mini-mart. Thats about 1/2 mile,
maybe slightly more. His Doc would be a bit upset but we told'em the day this
happend the only way to keep him off the broken foot was to write in his
suggestion that I stay home with him that first day. Grin, he did that and I
told my boss and got the day off. After that, now that we have cabs (taxis)
allowed on main base, he's been wandering off if it's not raining, for the
club and some conversation with others 3-4 times a week.

I got him some special gloves like I used for bicycle riding which help muchly
with the crutches.

                                       xxcarol
