Yup.  Thats possibly why I've heard Docs might listen closer to male ailments? 
They tend to wait til it's pretty bad before seeing a Doc.  Women tend to go
in earlier when it's 'gee, is this a problem? stage still.

Yes and no.  Just now, tomorrow for example, I do not.  It's supposed to be a
Chief (E7-E8).  I have only me and a new Chief who's only been onboard 3 weeks
tomorrow.  Normally I have 6 Chiefs in the section, but 4 are out this Monday
for schools or leave etc.

I can and will tap some E6 folks to help with some details but it's not the
same although I have 2 of those I can rely on well as long as I tell them what
I need.

Not the same because you can always hit the local grocery stores in those
cases.  In Japan, you cant even read the labels and the pictures may not be
all that helpful.  Look at a box of tide for example.  Can you tell from the
picture that it's for clothes?  Or would it be for the floor or the
dishwasher?

Our local Sasebo commissary is *outstanding* for it's size in what it provides
and it provides for a very culturally diverse group due to us military living
just about anyplace last tour or so.

I can get 5 kinds of sausage and i aint talkin' Jimmy Dean.  Kielbasa from
Germany, Chorizo (the real stuff), USA type link breakfast, Turky low sodium,
and filipeno.  Theres a rotating bin where other types show up and you just
poke aroujnd to see what else might be there that trip.

Remember, 3 7-11's butted together is all we have for everything.  Due to
requests from us who like to make bread, we now have rye flour on alternating
weeks with cornbread.  There was not shelf room for both so they split it.  If
this store is a whopping 100feet wide, I wanna crosscheck that with my own
tape measure <g>.

Sometimes, you do not know what you have, until it is taken away.  Sometimes
then, you can see the work done to provide as much as possible in an imperfect
situation and appreciate the hard work.  Thats how we in Sasebo see our little
commisary.  Roy, they truely are outstanding in all they do with that limited
space.  They earned every word of that award for 'best small commisary' as
well as the one for 'best small commisary overseas'.

Huh?  Are you a bad shopper or did the price chance since i left Norfolk 2
weeks ago?  Short of ground Kobe beef, it's 2$ a lb USA or less for ground
beef.

Nope, better stuff.  I didnt bother with the ground beef at all.

Don and i got out of the habit of beef fast here due to cost.  Rule of thumb
that is fairly wrkable is look at any price you have and double it for the
price here for the same thing but pre-frozen.

Japan is not a cheap place to live.  Yet again if you shop right, you can get
2lbs of shrimp for 7$ like I did today and that is 2 meals for 3 folks if you
dont get dumb and omit the veggies ;-)
