I received that message, and it did not show you getting a copy, so I can only
assume that it was a bcc or that Earl simply forwarded a copy to you.

You and Earl seem to misunderstand who can update an echolisting. Had either
of you read the Echolist FaQ, which is published each month, you would have a
better understanding.

The following information should be of assistance in clearing up your
misunderstanding of who can update an echolisting.

ET> My call on this is that I am the moderator of the Science Echo. I

Right....Co-Moderators are moderators...that's what the Co means.

ET> We both need the same

ET> have two different roles defined or to allow someone to be

ET> would solve these problems. In the meantime, any disagreement
ET> between others is just that - between them. I do not wish to be
ET> drug into any disagreements and I do not wish the state of the
ET> Echo listing to be changed because of disagreements of which I am
ET> not a part. Therefore, because I have no choice due to the way
ET> the echo listing works. Michiel must know the listing password
ET> and must be listed as a moderator to perform his duties in the
 ET> Echo.

No...you can officially request that the Echolist recognize an update from a
third party, and specifiy that third party. They do NOT have to be a moderator
IF you grant permission and notify me of same.

It's all spelled out in the echolist FAQ. See the section THIRD PARY UPDATES.

Of course, on the other hand, if you sent in an update every 30 days, it's
highly unlikely that the listing would ever expire(it's good for 180 days
without an update).

I can't tell you who you name as a moderator, I can't force you to make your
own
updates, but I will not allow a listing to be inaccurate. If you want to name
someone as moderator then they can not disavow being the moderator...

THIRD PARTY UPDATES
Moderators wishing to use the service of third parties to submit
MOD UPD, MOD DEL and MOD RULE messages must notify the Echolist
Keeper of their intention to use third parties. The Echolist
Keeper may hold update messages from third parties if there is
no confirmation message from the moderator.
Third party submissions MUST be from the address of the updater.

IDENTIFICATION OF MODERATOR
All moderator entries in the Echolist database MUST include, as a
minimum, the name of the moderator and either a Fido Style address
and/or an email address. The moderator name can be a person's
name, or in "official" echoes, the position name of the moderator
    (examples: Echolist Keeper, RC13).

Terms such as Trustee, Custodian, Emeritus, etc. are not proper
names, and therefore can not be listed in the moderator dataline.
These descriptions may be used in a DESC line.

MODIFICATIONS OF LISTINGS BY ECHOLIST KEEPER
The Echolist Keeper reserves the right to modify information in
the Echolist database if in the opinion of the Echolist Keeper,
the information is inaccurate, in question, or not in concert
    with the published Echolist Documents.
