There's a problem with not speaking the *whole* truth, i.e., the 
serious flaws of Thurgood (some times "Thurbad") Marshall.

Why do we need a balance of *sexes* on the Supreme Court?  We 
should have the best men (generic for "mankind") available.  
Sandra Day O'Conner has been a justice of somewhat less than 
average record.  She's not *bad*, just not very good, and will 
not be missed.

I presume the Congressers did that for the Italian vote ... BTW, 
truth means little to a Congresser.  *Votes* mean *everything* 
particularly if they can be tied in with some ethnic group.

Interesting, but many people of my age here think Don Ameche 
invented the telephone ... heh heh heh ... in fact, during WWII 
the telephone was often referred to as "The Ameche" ...

Huh?  For *years* we've had that -- the electric-arc light.  That 
was used to light many streets late in the Nineteenth Century.  
Also, I know for a *fact*, having seen them, in 1939 the City of 
Cincinnati still used arc-lights to light a lot of streets.  WRT 
the electric light *bulb*, though, the *important* thing was the 
filament as well as the gas within the glass enclosure.

We usually go for new houses not old ones.  People on our East 
Coast, though, seem to worship what is old and rickety.

IOW you *admit* giving Europeans credit for the Kama Sutra was 
*wrong*.  Is that correct?

But by mixing "nitro" with clay he made an explosive which could 
be handled safely ... of course at one time its main use was in 
warfare and that bothered him.
