Ärende: Elist
=============

You obviously have the list and while I have not, I shall just have to accept
that you are correct.

Aha. So those who claimed that the list were merged for some period of time had
it wrong.

 > The rest were lost and not included into Peter's list-- possibly
 > some sort of computer glitch on Peter's system.

Or a glitch in Adrian's system. We shall probably never know. It doesn't
matter. My orginal statement that the merger did not materialise was correct.

Ok...

Having seen the evidence presented by others, f.e. the excerpts from Fidonews.
I have to admit that I got the dateline wrong.

 > Thom's list did not become accepted until at least July. In

And so Thom continued the abuse initiated under Adrian's rule.

MVDV>>> In my opinion the e-list was abused.

 >> Not by Thom.

MVDV>> Thom was an assessor at least. See my message to Roy Witt
MVDV>> about Thom manually reviewing the input to the e-list robot.

 > Thom manually reviews the input only in rare cases --

I have reason to believe otherwise.

He either lets the robot automatically process the messages send to it or he
doesn't. You probably mean that Thom seldom intervenes. That may be true, but
in order to intervene before the messages get processed by the robot he has to
have them put aside and review them all before feeding them to the robot. That
reviewing may in most cases just be a cursory glance, but to review some, he
has to review them all in some way.

MVDV>> Yes there have been real consequences. One example is the
MVDV>> refusal of the Z1 sysops - you among them - to respect
MVDV>> Ward's wish that ZCC_PUBLIC be a read only area. One of
MVDV>> the reasons for rejecting Ward's wishes was that he was
MVDV>> not listed as moderator in the e-list...

 > A reason is that since no rules were posted into the echo,
 > no one had any way of guessing that he intended a widely
 > distributed echo, freely picked up by anyone,

When I make a mistake because I miss some knowledge you say it is my own fault
for not getting the proper information. Surf to

http://www.tlchost.net/echolist/echolist.htm

And tell me how the hell am I supposed to guess that the information presented
there may be up to a month old? Yet it is my own fault for assuming it is up to
date you say.

And now you claim "how are we supposed to know" that ZCC-PUBLIC was meant to be
read only?

Well, in any case, you STILL refused to comply AFTER you were told what the
intention was. You refused Ward's request.

Well, that is history too. I see that ZCC-PUBLIC is now listed with Janis
Kracht as moderator. Doesn't matter, the area is dead for all intents and
purposes. You guys killed it.

Cheers, Michiel
