No problem. I figure it's better for the new users in the echo to know a
little history about this echo so that those with an agenda can't lead you
astray. i.e. DD above, has an agenda where anything Zone One (Z1) in
nature must be 'bashed' at all cost. That means that the Z1 'Echolist'
must be dismissed out of hand, rather than something people can use as a
tool in Fidonet. For that reason, the echolist has become just what it was
intended to be, rather than what they thought it should be; another club
to force people to act nice to each other, rather than leaving that up to
the individual.

Well, I had that same notion for a while as a BBS user, many years ago. As
time marched on and I found my BBS sources dwindling to a handful as they
died off, I became a sysop. All of a sudden my eyes were opened to the
truth about this network. Every sysop with a title that included
'coordinator' - was a maniac, intent on giving everyone a hard time, using
their own version of their 'policy' to force people to do things the
coordinator's way or hit the highway. Most of the time, they forced them
out, such as a long story about at least one sysop in Zone Two. But that
story is for another day.
