Knowing all of that doesn't release you from participating in an
illigitimate election. Those who disagreed with the hi-jackers and their
illigitimate election didn't let that point go un-noticed.

When you're outnumbered, there's nothing you can do about it. You roll
with the punches.

Let's say that those who protested did vote, just to prove their point but
didn't support me. And their only reason for voting was to support the
concept of elections by the sysops.

That wouldn't have stopped the ballot stuffers from inviting more of their
ilk to vote and there'd still be the same jackass in the driver's seat.

No, it's better this way. Now those people who support an election
requirement every year can have their way. The echo returns to what it was
with the same rules as it had before, perhaps with a few changes as the
new moderator will allow the sysops in on that process.

Enforcing the rules in the echo cleaned it up briefly, until the IC got
his tit in a ringer over being moderated. That drove him to full steam
ahead in trying to rid the network of one of his biggest detractors.
Fortunately for everyone in the network, that backfired.
