Hello shannon.


In the current statement on your Fidonews page you state:


"In a recent Fidonews echo conversation, a vocal atheist in the echo, Bjorn
Forsstrom (2:203/614.61), made a proclamation. In response to the question if
he hated Christians or religion in general, he stated, "I hate every, Jew,
Muslim, Christian or wharever that uses his God to hide behind to justify their
own means. A true Christian doesn't behave like you just lika a true Muslem
isn't a terrorist. When it all turns into fanatism at least I react to it and
by that I condemn both you and the terrorists. You are all just as dangerous to
a democracy but neither of you realize this untill it's too late. You never
listen to anyone except your own and as soon anything doesn't go your way you
all can do whatever it takes in the name of your God. THAT'S the people I hate
and then I'm on a much higher moral ground than you ever will be because......I
haven't a God to hide behind."


    Shannon, I take his statement to say that Bjorn hates those *people* be
them Jews, Muslims, Christians, or whomever that use their religion as
justification of their actions. I think it is important to say that I think
Bjorn hates the people for their behavior and not them for being Jews, Muslims,
or Christians. I don't see him as saying that he hates people for being of
whatever religion thay may be. He hates their actions and their use of religion
to justify those actions. Bjorn has confirmed my understanding of what he said
as being fairly accurate. If you choose to take what Bjorn has stated as you
have I think you are in the minority on this one Shannon.


"Although he does indicate that he hates terrorists, he believes that
Christians are "dangerous to democracy", and that he does "hate every Jew,
Muslim, Christian or [whatever]......"  Because he doesn't have a "God to hid
behind" he believes that he is morally superior.  This is an interesting
paradigm because he has indicated that he believes that he is (morally)
superior to those who are religious."


     You look to be taking part of a sentence made by Bjorn and not the whole
statement or sentence. Words taken out of context can say or suggest a variety
of things. He is also free to think of himself as he chooses just as you and I
are.

"His recent unprovoked outburst in the Fidonews echo left many scratching their
heads and wondering why he had lashed out at a few of the participants.  With
his admission of religious bias, the mystery has been solved."

     There is alot of provoking going on by both sides Shannon
