Well, most of them anyway....

That does not take a crystal ball. The Americans do not want to risk Saddam
being freed trough incompetence of the Iraqis. So they will keep him in their
custody as long as possible.

That does not take a crystal ball either. The civil war is already a fact.

A US base need not be on US soil. Wasn't the justification for not following US
law for the guests of the Gitmo Hotel, that it is NOT on US soil and that
therefore US law does not apply?

The US have shown to be very creative when it comes to circumventing
extradition treaties or the lack thereof...

Other than that, I can think I can safely say that the trial of Saddam was a
charade. The outcome was fixed from the start.
