Me - 1959 through 1979 part time rider, Triumphs & Hondas. I went down
once, landed in a big bush that softened the impact, got up, righted the
bike and went on my way. Quit riding a few years later without any further
incidents.

My mistake was taking a cafe' style, Honda 4cyl bike off road, thus the
bush.

While I was riding with my son and his friend (c1979), I realized that the
time to get off bikes was at hand. When a younger person can pass a faster
bike on a curvey road in a friendly competitive spirit, that gave me a
clue. I later traded the bike for an old Firebird. As fate would have it,
the 18yo who I swapped with, ran the bike into the rear of a parked car
the next day, sending him over the car onto a grassy knoll. He broke his
collar bone and couldn't ride for a while, but kept the bike. That was
1982 or so and I enjoyed the Firebird, up until I sold it last summer.
