No, you've stated that it's the man's fault.

Goes to show that for every person that has a problem, there could be
another person who may never have it.

MvdV>>> I now use the Window version of Irex.

MvdV>>> It works but it has some annoying bugs and shortcomings.

I sent RC10 an attachement for several months without that problem. When I
sent her a netmail telling her to look in her inbound, there they were.
She and her software had been ignoring the fact that someone (a RIN) would
be sending her a nodelist update, via MakeNL. The ZC got a copy too, but
not until this had been going on for a spell.

MvdV>>> It also seem to crash occasionally, (ask Roy) but I never had
 MvdV>>> that particular problem.

RW>> The only time it ever crashed was because of a 'configuration'
 RW>> problem

MvdV> A programme should not crash because of a configuration error. If
MvdV> it does, there is serious problem. Definitely a bug.

If the configuration was corrected and the program didn't crash again,
there must have been a 'configuration' problem, not a bug.

RW>> I had and only when you logged on.

MvdV> Others reported the same problem. And with others than me calling
MvdV> in. It is well known bug.

It hasn't happened here since I corrected that configuration.

RW>> Once I corrected that, it hasn't crashed again.

MvdV> You found a way to avoid running into the condition that made it
MvdV> crash. Good for you, but it did not make the bug go away, it is
 MvdV> still there.

I've found that it's a problem with configuration. i.e. I've had it crash
when first starting up. The cure for that is to check for *.0 files that
IREX creates. If it finds rexup.0 it shuts down. If you exit IREX without
using the Alt-X keys, it will leave rexup.0 in the folder and IREX will
never run until you manually or by batch file, delete it.

MvdV> Pity you do not remember exactly what it was that you did to
MvdV> "correct" the problem. It could have been helpful to others.

I may still have the logs and might be able to determine what it was from
those.

RW>> Having tweaked it now for 5 or 6 years, it's pretty stable IMO.

 MvdV> Pretty stable, but buggy...

I wouldn't call it buggy, it just has some quirks that if the configs
aren't done right, it will de-stablize.
