I was wondering about that.

Also spelled differently. Nigh, as in, 'The end is nigh.' (the end is
near) Neigh is the sound or whinny of a horse.

Or short time.

But there were thousands before the war to make up for it. I'm familiar
with such a family that resides in San Diego, CA...they have relatives all
over the country.
