i know that it is a blown (herniated) disk... had a CAT or MRI years back when
i was up in VA when it went out while on the job... was bent over digging thru
crush'n'run for two hours to put a conduit in place that should have already
been in place before the CnR was laid... since i found that it was missing
while looking at the blueprints of the job and i knew that section of the site,
i was "selected" to fix the problem... there was a preexisting injury but
nothing as bad as what this came out to be... i was unable to stand straight,
put on my shoes and socks or even sit on the toilet... because of the
preexisting injury from 1981 before i went into the USAF, which the injury
didn't prevent, i was refused compensation... at that time, i was told that i'd
likely never straighten up or be able to walk again... told them they were
wrong and to just help me deal with the pain for a month or two and i'd get on
thru it... i surprised the hell out of that doctor, who had been hoping to rake
in some $25000US for the surgery, when i walked into his office 3 months
later... he was one extremely surprised individual... time, meditation and self
healing practises can work wonders when one has the time and financial ability
to spend the time to take on the task...

that sounds very similar to my situation... i went for a long time where i
could not cross my legs without some part of my legs going to sleep almost
instantly... this particular session (today) with this problem resulted from
badly straining it while puking... i won't even mention the lower abdominal
hernia that resulted from a major coughing fit one night that ruptured where my
appendix had been taken out during emergency surgery several years back... i
almost died from that appendix because i refused to go until the pain was so
bad that i was passing out from it and was physically loaded into a vehicle by
family members and forcibly taken to the hospital...

if it wasn't for the surgery, i might take you up on that very generous
offer... i just wish that more folk were like that here in the US instead of
being accusatory and trying to blame folk's problems like this on them when,
like in my case, i couldn't help having to puke and wretching to badly that it
pulled my back out as it did...

i'm happy to say that things are a lot better than they were some weeks ago...
i can at least get up and about and have been able to be more upright for
longer periods of time... there was a time when i wasn't able to stand or be
upright for longer than 5 or 10 minutes... now i can manage 30 to 45 minutes
before hurting so bad i have to lay down... daily doses of glucosimine and
condroitin (sp? on both) seem to be helping as they did years back... i'll get
there sooner or later... there's just no way that i can go back a a 10hour a
day walking all the time job right now... but one day, i will return either to
that job or i'll find me something else... maybe it's time to go (back) on the
road driving big trucks and put this CDL to work for me... i dunno... we'll see
what happens as time goes on...
