The IC's (whoever they are) have no say whatsoever over what is discussed in
this area. That is the prerogative of the moderator.

Eh? Why all of a sudden do you need the author's permission? What happened to
that infamous "fair use" clause? If you post it here isn't that for the purpose
of education or critisism? And didn't he give up all rights when he posted that
article on a forum on your website?

What is the difference between cross posting copies of articles submitted to
your website to the Fidonews echo and cross posting articles from the FidoNews
echo to your website? Why do you think you need the author's permission for the
one and not for the other?

I smell a double standard here....

Means nothing. It is the same crap about the Berne Convention that we have been
hearing from you guys all the time. You all go for the wrong assumption that
because both Sweden and the US have signed the Berne Convention Swedish law is
the same as US law. But it is not. Can your man read Swedish? If not what he
writes is just an opinion, no more.

Only a Swedish lawyer could tell what is really the case.

Besdies your original accusation was about the hidden MP3's. The aricle does
not address that.

And this is not the only one, there are many more.

So apparently it is not all that unusual that athours request that their
articles are not included in reprints. And apparently these requests are
honoured.
