"We" know nothing of the kind. I saw the whole show, every two hours and 20

If you believe that he lied about lying about it, why wpuld you believe
*anything* he said?

He has not been arrested yet. A request for arrest was denied by the judge.
"Insufficient" new evidence.

Het thought she was dead and his accomplice confirmed it.

It is very unlikely that there will be a murder charge. For one the murder case
is already closed. What remains is the case of the disappearance.

For a murder charge, the prosecution will have to prove that she was alive when
she was dumped in the sea. I do not think that is possible.

So if he is a liar why believe his "confession"?

True, but it is a much lesser crime than murder. And besides, he dis not d that
himself, he was merely an assessor to that.

In his "confession" he says she died on the beach. I do not think it will be
possible to prove otherwise.

But not murder.

He can be charged as an assessor in making a body disappear, The maximum
penalty for making a body disappear is 6 month in prison. Given that he was
only 17 (a minor) when it happened and that he is only an assessor, he may get
two, three month at most. If it ever comes to that. *if*. He already spent more
time in prison durng his previous arrests. Which means he will walk even if he
is convicted.

But he can probably forget about compensation for undue arrest....

You forget that it is Dutch law that applies, not US law...

Not to murder.

As for the rest of his confession, it will in all likehood be rejected as
evidence in court. By Dutch law it is against the law to tape people on private
property without them being aware of it. So unless the "evidence" is supported
by other independent evidence, nothing may come of it.

What it boils down is that from the legal POV, his "confession" is no more than
hearsay of the ramblings of someone stoned as a donkey.
