I'm talking from the experience of those that have lived here far longer
than I, and several hapless victims.

My opinion about what? It's highly unlikely that a Thai person would have the
same expierances as some sad fat prick of a tourist would have regarding
bar girls. I'm not a tourist nor am I a sad fat prick. ;)

By nature the bars in Thailand would seem exotic to westerners, but they
are just practical meeting places for people in a tropical country.

I don't meet people in dirty places. The Thai's are often fastidiously clean.

Your opinion of Thai's could be tainted by your western upbringing.
I have a great deal of respect for Thai people and their culture. I just
don't see them through rose coloured glasses.
