There were a lot less dead during Saddam's days than there are now.
 
Probably it went unnoticed overthere or was simply ommitted from the newswires
but after a few months the US stopped counting civilian deaths. NGO's kept
doing that by calling morgues, hospitals, docters on a daily basis and the
numbers were _and_ are staggering up to 10-fold what was expected during
Saddam's reign of terror.

The real assholes of the world are individuals such as yourself who desperately
cling to straws in order to justify that illegal invasion. It was all about
WMD's, because that provided the excuse. Remember? And then it shifted multiple
times.
 
Now the current justification is the 'liberation of the Iraqi" people. It's
cheap and pathetic.
 
Michiel's words are so very true ... there's no way you can win an armed
conflict against a guerilla movement fighting on its own soil.
 
Need examples?    Google for the name of the president of Nicaragua ...
 
No, just forget about Googling: it's Daniel Ortega, the one so violently
opposed by the Reagan administration.
 
Or what happened to all the administrations who were put in the saddle with
American military aid in South America? Everywhere now those opponents are in
charge.
 
What happened in Vietnam? The US backed rulers collapsed and the US policy of
the sword failed.
 
What happened in China? The US backed dictator fled and the US policy failed.
 
Well, in Iraq the US policy will not fail because it already has prior to day-1
there.
 
And if you need a reason why the US economy is doing so bad and US$ can now
nearly be put through paper shredders for recycling the paper ... the continued
useless bottomless spending in Iraq.
 
I don't understand why the US need a presidential election before policy can be
changed. Is it that necessary to be able to blame someone?
