It will, in time. As soon as there is one global government for the
whole planet. The world is in the stage where it is "electing" that
government by whatever means it can. Given time, the world will
declare it's independence from all the other governments and decide on
one global government ... assuming it doesn't destroy itself first.

Not a bad analogy. I'll add that like many who are invited to parties,
he failed to think it through before accepting.
