   Nice looking.  The TR6 was the next step up from the Spitfire, a bit
   more hefty in several ways.

   And they were not too good with rust protection back then either, but
   neither were the American cars.    My first British car was a 1961
   Vauxall Victor -- almost a tank compared to many of the cars.   I
   bought it for 100 pounds in 1972.   First annual inspection, I had to
   spend another 60+ pounds to fix rust in the sills.   When I bought
   the Spitfire about six months later I took the Vauxall to our
   mechanic to see what if might need for a friend to buy it.   Mechanic
   uttered the famous British expression "You don't want to know!"   Car
   had developed full body cancer and since it was unibody construction
   it was in danger of breaking in half at a severe bump.   Sent it off
   to auction and got 30 pound for it as scrap metal.

   I think I kept the Spitfire for about 10 years.
