A Siemens M35 doesn't have a standard COM port because that would simply be too
big for a cell phone. Look at the size of the COM port on your computer
sometime.

You apparently have some special kind of plug/interface.

So now we're getting down to the facts. Naturally _that_ is not "standard"
except for the specific phone. And incidently, such things are generally sold
(at a fairly high price) as extras, not included with the standard phone.

Which varies from phone to phone, assuming you even have such a connection on
the outside of the phone. The cheaper Nokias do not, and the more expensive
ones have a proprietary interface requiring a special cable. For the cheaper
ones you use a proprietary interface that fits in the battery compartment.

That's your mistake. "Most" cell phones don't. The more expensive ones, and
particularly the modern (1-2 years) do, but your talk of "standard" COM
interfaces on a cell phone is confusing.
