===========================
Hello Ross,

>MV>So what do you say about Michael Jackson sleeping with little
>MV>boys? Is that "acting out his his fantasies"?

>RC>Yes, highly abnormal in light of the fact that he wasnt the boys
>RC>father.

>LL>Michael Jackson sought to help those less fortunate than himself -
>LL>especially children.

RC>His help didnt have to extend into his bedroom with them in his
RC>bed with them.

Why not? Many kids sleep with their parents. Some of the kids
Jackson invited to his Neverland Ranch had no parents. Or parents
who were never at home to be there for their kids.

>LL>Jackson was the father of three children, and
>LL>understood the wants and needs of children. Not all children have
>LL>the same opportunities in life, which is why Jackson invited children
>LL>to Neverland, and for sleepovers, etc. He wanted to give children
>LL>an experience they would appreciate and remember for the rest of
>LL>their lives. A most honorable thing to do, in my opinion.

RC>An experience they would never forget and wish they could you mean.

An experience they would love and cherish forever.

>RC>There has to be some grain of truth that he touched some of
>RC>them boys inappropriately.

>LL>Jackson was acquitted in court of law.

RC>an acquittal is not absolution.

Objective evidence is what has to count in a court of law. That is
what we use to determine guilt or innocence. The prosecution failed
to make its case, given it had very little, if any, objective evidence
to base its case on. No substitute for objective evidence should be
allowed, especially something as subjective as hearsay about Jackson's
weird lifestyle (sleeping in an oxygen tank, living with a chimpanzee,
various plastic surgeries, etc.).

RC>As pointed out earlier, sometimes the innocent get locked
RC>up and the guilty go free.

And sometimes the innocent (such as Michael Jackson) are persecuted.

RC>I also believe OJ Simpson to be guilty as hell, despite his
RC>acquittal, but he had the best lawyers money could buy.

"I was paid to get my client out of jail." - Johnnie Cochran

Cochran did what he was paid to do, same as all other lawyers
who represent a client. The burden of proof is on the prosecution,
not the defendant. The prosecution failed to do its job in the OJ
case. Why? Because the prosecution had a very weak case. The
only evidence it had to present was circumstantial evidence. When
the prosecution tried to introduce a glove as evidence, we all know
what happened -

"If it doesn't fit, you must acquit!" - Johnnie Cochran

Naturally, the prosecution did not want to make the same mistake
when it came to Michael Jackson.

To show how lame a case the prosecution had, after Jackson was
acquitted the prosecutor argued against returning some of the items
that were seized at Neverland, such as syringes, the painkiller
Demerol, and other prescription drugs.

Instead of a prosecution, the prosecutor wanted a PERSECUTION!
Even after Jackson was ACQUITTED! Not satisfied on painting Jackson
as a pervert, the prosecutor wanted to paint Jackson as a drug-crazed
madman! Never mind that Michael Jackson had suffered burns on his
scalp, a broken leg and crushed vertebrae. The prosecutor wanted
Jackson's head on a pike!

>LL>Unfortunately, guilt by accusation has become the norm in this
>LL>country. That guilt by accusation is what ruined Jackson's
>LL>reputation. The past few years, until his untimely death, Jackson
>LL>was a virtual recluse, rarely venturing anywhere in public.

RC>He had been that way for the past 15 years.

Although Jackson had always been somewhat reclusive, it was not
until his trial in 2005 that he became almost a total recluse.

"He wanted to do so many things, and he was very concerned about
the how the news media ... and all the notoriety of charges leveled
against him. He took that very hard. Other than that, he was
disappointed in how the world would not recognize his achievements
and his accomplishments in the music world."
- Don Barden, Detroit business mogul
