Even at Science-fiction warp speeds, that isn't possible. A fictional warp
drive does not permit instantaneous travel between two points.

You're forgetting that there's a diffeence between fiction and reality.

Warp speed is fiction, remember.

At a speed the Enterprise of even the Next Generation couldn't reach. Warp
factor 10 (set as an unattainable maximum as Warp factor 9.9 is 21000
times the speed of light or 4 billion miles/second) is exponentially
faster than Warp 1, which is the fictional speed of light.

Had the Enterprise of the Next Generation been able to travel
instantaniously from the Delta Quadrant, they would have done so. They
even looked at 'assimulating' Borg transwarp technology in hopes of
cutting off their estimated 8 year trip back to earth.

Startrek Enterprise, set in 2151 onwards, follows the voyages of the first
human ship capable of traveling at warp factor 5.2 (before Star Trek
w/Capt Kirk) which under the old warp table formula, is about 140 times
the speed of light. In the episode Broken Bow, Capt. Archer (while
admiring Enterprise while on a shuttle over Earth) equates warp 4.5 as
"...Neptune and back in six minutes."

Wrong...you arrive weeks or days after you left your departure place.
