So.....lets see......you're sittin' in a McDonalds with your wife and two
small children, havin' a Big Mac & fries; The place is a little crowded, many
fifteen or twenty people inside.


Then.....this guy wearin' cammo's walks in with a sawed-off pump gun in his
hands, aims at the nearest customer and opens up! He blows the customer out of
the chair and starts aiming at the next nearest one to him. You're sittin'
there with your wife and kids.......now don't you wish you had a .45 auto, or
a 9mm right now?


Ah.......but you don't. `Cause you're a follower of Sarah Brady, and you
believe that there should be less guns in the hands of private citizens. And
so....in order to demonstrate to your children that you have the courage of
your convictions, you're unarmed! And.....*you* and your family are the next
ones he starts taking aim at!

Been there.....done that......it didn't work! The only thing the laws the gun
-grabbing democrats and their fellow travers have passed have done is to
prevent people from being able to protect themselves in sudden-dangerous
situations, like someone walking into a McDonalds and murdering a dozen or
more people!

What most laws aimed at such really manage to do is make it difficult if not
impossible for decent citizens to obtain a weapon. It doesn't stop crazies, or
criminals, or street gangs, from getting firearms.

It is my opinion (shared by a lot more people that are far more important than
I) that most of these incidents take place because the perpetrator knows ahead
of time that there will be little or no armed resistance to stop them.


If one of these incidents began to unfold, and two or more individuals at the
scene pulled out firearms of their own, and the perp died in a hail of
gunfire, it would send a message.


Thee was a security camera installed in a local liquir store ten or more years
ago, that video recorded a shoot-out between the clerk and two individuals who
tried to rob him. The two perps were black guys. They walked in at a time when
the store was empty except the guy behind the counter. The way they acted made
the storekeeper nervous enough to put his hand in his pants pocket where he
had a hammerless  snub-nose .38.


The two perps walked up to the counter with a couple of sodas, put them on the
counter, drew guns and demanded the money from the register. Instead, the guy
behind the counter drew his gun, at which the two perps ducked behind the
front of the counter. one of the perps raised his gunhand up over the counter
and fired two quick shots. The storekeeper (who had ducked down behind rear of
the counter), did the same.


This shootout took place at a distance of less than about two feet! The perps
and the storekeeper were seperated by only the narrow counter.


As I watched this video unfold, I wondered why the storekeeper didn't fire
several shots right through the counter itself! He had to know roughly where
each of the perps were in relation to the counter, he'd have gotten both of
them!


As it happened.....the perps fired one or two more times and ran out of the
store.


If the storekeeper had been a Sarah Brady believer......he wouldn't have had a
gun to begin with, and he'd probably be dead!


If those who think guns are too dangerous to own.....fine. Let them live life
on their knees, if that position feels so natural to them. I prefer to be
armed and defend myself.
