Do want to talk about stoic?
I rode out a stroke all by myself in 2006, in 2004 I faced
a 90 pound Amstaff Pit Bull which had my 52 pound British Staffordshire  
Pit Bull by his chest in neck helpless as Jimmy Nation's dog Brutus
frothed at the mouth from blood lust. Jimmy a skinhead

I annoyed the dog by brushing my left hand accoss the killer dog's 
jaws.
It struck me as intended to get my animal away alive.

Not exactly my plan for walking the dog at 8:35 in the morning 
but stuff happens.

I'm left handed.
I lost the use of that hand for six months.

On my knees and face to face with that monster frothing at the mouth
in blood lust he'd just need hit my throat and I'd have been dead.
I treated my hand with disinfectanty at home.
As I did my much more severely wounded dog.

In 1995 I underwent a discectomy, spinal surgery removing the disc, 
and was given a morphine pump
with 20 shots available one every ten minutes.
I mever once hit the button.
I went grocery shopping the morning after surgery upon release.

Oh I'd say I've been stoic in my day.
Some of that qualifies as stoic don't it?
