     That would depend on if the child was from a city or subburbs/rural
areas. The city kids seemed to know more about both. I may have been
somewhat of an exception fir a city kid. As a child there were no guns
ever in the house. I don't recall seeing either parent ever touching or
holding a weapon. They didn't seem to be against guns though. My interest
in guns I think started when I started going hunting as a teenager on my
own. Every go squirrel hunting with a howlitzer? <g> Finding the squirrel
is the hard part. j/k I don't hunt just to kill and detest those that only
hunt to be able to shoot something. There are gun ranges for that. I often
times would be out in the woods for a week and never fire a shot.

     It is hard to say from a sex standpoint. There was what I would
consider the normal desires for a kid of 10 or so. I might of "bloomed"
a few years later than normal but I remember "blooming" in a hurry.

     Now a 10 year old of today is another matter entirely. They are much
more experienced than I was back in the early 60's.

    Not really sure.  She didn't seem to have a problem with the subject
and didn't get offended at the telling of a dirty joke. It was never a
subject that came up so I ended up self-educating myself on the subject.

    And NO, that isn't why I needed glasses as a child. <g>

     My parents never divorced but my dad moved out of the house when I
was about 7-8. They never really discussed why. My mother raised me and
my older sister by herself while working as much as she could. My mother
was in her early 40's when my sister was born. So I guess she was a late
bloomer too. At their death they had been married to each other for almost
60 years.

      No that was the common term used to for that particular activity. We
all knew about the subject and often discussed it amoung our peers.

    That may explain the popularity of Swedish...Umm...educational films
when I was growing up then. <g>
