     Agreed. Guns by themselves don't kill anyone. It takes the actions
of a person to do that.

     I have never had to aim a gun at anyone. And would not consider such
an action unless I thought my family was in life threatening danger and
then as a last resort.

     The problem there is not that he had easy access to a gun. The problem
is that the "system" failed him. Failed to identify his behavior sooner and
failed to take the necessary steps to prevent him from being able to aquire
guns. I wouldn't mind the requirements to puchase a handgun be somewhat
stricter. Not to keep tha average joe from buying a gun but to better keep
hanguns from those that have expressed the mental and/or emotional
instability necessary to show that they should not be allowed to own a gun.

     It is my contention that guns are not the problem. It is the mindset
of the people that use a gun to hurt/kill other people that is the real
problem. Banning guns is a bandaid called for by some. It does little to
deal with the actual problem. The person using the gun to hurt or kill.
