   Whatever makes you believe that?

   USA, with 5% of the globe's population, is responsible for 40% of its
pollution. Isn't it fair that you pay eight times as much as the average
country to help fix this then? But nowhere has anyone said that you should pay
for *other* countries.

   The only thing that is asked from the rich countries is that we give away
the technology we develop to reduce pollution to those poor countries that
neither have the technology nor the economy to assist in that matter.

   And this is unfair? I beg to differ. After all, we've built our richness by
exploiting the people in the so called Third World for centuries.

   Sweden for instance has been exporting not only the technology (for free of
course) but even money and personnel to help clean up the countries around the
Baltic Sea and other places all around the globe, for many years now. Plus of
course we're way ahead of any Kyoto or other agreement here at home on our own
turf.
