Thanks Bob. I too wish it a wider audience but I fear it will fall on deaf
ears. Twenty years ago, people were thinking about how to design a mobile
telephone system so that the caller would not have to reveal his location when
making a call. Now we take it for granted that the location of every active
cell phone is known, logged and stored for at least ten years. And made
available to law enforcement without a court order.

A few weeks ago our minister of transport launched a plan for taxing cars based
on actual use. A GPS receiver and transponder in every car, so that the
whereabouts of every car would be know and billed accordingly. Lots of protest,
unfair, too expensive, would not work, etc, etc. But very few protesters even
mentioned the privacy issue...

We have become sheep.. :-(
