IF, and that's a big IF, the 'Special Justice' had notified someone
besides the defendant of his status.

Which there was no record of until after the fact.

And there's the problem. He wasn't adjudicated mentally unfit to possess a
firearm.

Actually, he wasn't mentally defective, as he was able to plan and carry
out the shooting. That shows that he was quite capable. And no, he was not
adjudicated, it was merely stated by a 'special judge' who didn't go
beyond making the statement.

They're not, so the question is moot.

Each state has it's own version of the federal Justice Department, which
is funded by each state's legislature. Each state's justice departments
also report to the FBI and ATF on a regular basis.

That's bullshit. Each federally licensed firearms dealer is required to
send sales and buyer personal information to the ATFE on a monthly
basis...

Background checks are not always instant and many take a while to get a
report back. But each state justice department will have a record of who
is allowed to purchase. The problem here was in Virginia's record keeping,
not the federal database.

I'm surprised that Cho didn't consult with you before he went ahead with
his plans...you're the biggest nut I know, besides Neut! the Nut!.
