He also could have voted for other candidates besides himself.
However, the truth be told, methinks he is far more interested
in trying to be elected to a much more important position.  :)

Whatever for?  Nominations need not be seconded.  And all candidates,
being regular members of fido, have a right to vote.

Who might that be?

Lots of RC's and REC's would love to be a ZC.  Maybe even all of them.
Look at how many politicians would love to be president.  Should that
be held against them?  The minute a presidential election has been
decided is when the next presidential election cycle begins.  The same
is true of any other election (where there is a set term).

Now if only elections would be extended to include ALL members of
fido, not just regular members...
