Exactly. I'm still running on an old AMD system with a 2(!)GB hard drive, half
of which is unused. The advantage is that you can use old hardware that is
totally unsuitable for anything modern - and still offers a stable file system
(HPFS, now even journaling) and advantages even Windows didn't have until XP.

I also _love_ the backup possibilities - just archive the boot partition with
Info-ZIP and the proper switches and it remains bootable when you have to re-do
the system. And don't forget the advantage that you can keep the OS and data
(programs) on separate partitions without a great deal of trouble as with
Windows. Clean as a whistle, for fido nothing better.

Probably you're right, but I'd still miss something in my life. I've been with
fido a long time.
