My first adventure to Mexico was while visiting friends in California,
while I still lived in Illinois. I wasn't a virgin though, as I had an
aunt that married a Mexican, moved to Mexico and then back after he was
murdered. She lived there long enough to learn some of their ways in
cooking, along with giving birth to my cousin. That was in the late 40s.
At family picnics, she always brought baked beans and tortillas, flour.
She probably put beans together with tortillas, knowing what the family
liked to eat. They weren't chili hot at all. I always thought it was the
best thing to eat at those gatherings, 'til I got my first taste of
Mexican food.

You must have had too much energy...I prefer watching the whales mate in a
bay off of Baja, Sur. Bjorn would like the males, they have dicks the size
of telephone poles.

Nahhh. They were used to midwestern stringy beef and mashed potatoes, over
cooked veggies and stale white bread. Bland as hell and just as tasteless,
which is probably why they poured on the salt. The hottest thing my dad
ever ate was chili, aka bean pot with a little ground beef and bacon. Mom
wouldn't touch it.

PS - one New Year's Eve, my parents were visiting and we hosted a NYE
party for friends. At the bar I had some Jose' Quevero Gold tequila and my
dad had never tasted it before. I set up a dish of salt, sliced a lemon in
1/8ths, poured some tomato juice into shot glasses and tequila in more
shot glasses. Then I showed him how they drink/ate this combo in Mexico.

We had several and I being used to having a few of them at a time, drank
him under the table. He was never a drinker, but when he did it was a shot
or two of whiskey, which I could never stand. Love the Quervo Gold though.
