Neither of us is a blood thirsty savage.
This point needed making.
Not all Americans are blood thirsty savages.

Personally I do not find aggression and war appealing.

As something of a former biker I have seen, and smelled
people enviscerated by the bottom of a broken nine ounce 
beer glass.

It ain't pretty.
While the smell of warm blood is sickly sweet I nearly lost my stomach
both times I witnessed this.

War is not a football game for your entertainment though
you and other faux patriots cheer war and aggression on.

There is only one justification for war and aggression
and that is in the cause of self defense if attacked.

Then you make the response brutal, full out and get it over
with as quickly as possible.

None of this ten years in as with Afganistan supporting
corrupt leadership and mucking about with no clear goal or how
to achieve it in sight as yet.

I get my news from overseas sources as well.

A five year old girl is not a combatant and she aint pretty either
when one leg and one arm is blown off and half of her face is
incinerated by a predator missile.
This picture remains with me to this day.

Further one need look no further than the current state of
economic and social affairs and unemployment in the U.S. to see
what the war and Republican agenda has brought us to, I include Obama.

I warned of the economic repercussions before the second gulf war
going so far as to cite a CIA document warning of these matters.

I was attacked and dismissed.

Well here it is.
It's going to get a lot worse too.

All you unthinking  might makes right flag waving faux patriots remind
of the huge NAZI Germany rallys where hundreds and thousands of flags 
were waved  by enthusiastic crowds as well.

That's the image that sprang to mind when some seventy - two percent
of Americans supported going to war over imaginary WMD.
The same image persists to this day.

beleive it or not there was a time the working man had a shot at 
the American dream, that time is not now.

There is a chance to earn back that dream but it means moving off
of the war based economy that enriches the tiny obscenely wealthy minority
and returning education, research and development and manufacturing to the
United States.

Who says we can't compete due to the costs of labor?
The same wealthy autocracy and plutocrats that persist in
pushing never ending war.

Well here's a clue for you, we invented pick and place robotic 
electronics manufacturing and if funding is channeled into education, 
research and development and we reign in our politicians and legislators
we can bring back the U.S. as a world leader but not by persisting 
in our current direction.
These would be good paying skilled jobs that would make for a robust economy.

A good example would be the agenda set by Barack Hussein Obama while 
campaigning for President.
Not what he's done since being elected to be President but  
what he'd promised when running for President.

Education, R and D, good manufacturing jobs in green technology
and green energy.

All these things are being pursued and being done in China
and China has largely withstood the world wide recession
and their economy is still booming as compared to ours currently.

if big business wants to keep its current tax breaks I've no problem
at all with that as long as those tax breaks are tied to keeping
and bringing jobs back to the U.S. instead of tied to outsourcing
them as it has been these last couple of decades.

I never have understood the blind loyalty all you faux patriots
have for a bunch of greedy faux patriot arms, energy  and munitions 
merchants.

You ought to check out how you're being manipulated.
The second gulf war in Iraq?

How many camera shots were angled down toward the killing zones?

How many camera shots were angled upwards showing the bloodless fireworks 
display?

There is a very willful and planned campaign at work here
and it's not got your and my best interests at heart.

I do not worship at the alter of the merchants of death.

I am one who respects educators and would not strip away
their right to collective bargaining as the right wants to do.

I would fund education at or well above current levels and tie
corporate tax breaks to returning jobs and research and development
to the forefront of American priorities.

I go yet further.
I'd cut the defense budget fully by half which need not
weaken us in the least if the waste were cut out.

Give me a break, who in their right mind would attack us?

I mean what state, not private radical terrorist actors.

Al Qaeda should have and could still be handled by special forces strike
teams after intelligence were gathered to assure accurate surgical
targetting of the actual terrorist targets.

In and out, gather intelligence, strike, withdraw, repeat as necessary.
Take asymmetrical warfare to them rather than give them the home 
field advantage.

We need not conduct wholesale slaughter like we
did in Iraq, this is the venue of the war profiteers who
control the media who urges on the masses in the name of faux 
patriotism.

Unless we move off of a war based economy IMO we are lost.

The number of supporters of the second gulf war has now
reversed and then some with the majority now on my side.

If we haven't learned from that fiasco we deserve whatever fate
befalls us.
