Ärende: The Joker

Hello Everybody,

"HERE COME OL' FLAT-TOP,
HE COME GROOVIN' UP SLOWLY.

GOT TO BE A JOKER HE JUST DO WHAT HE PLEASE."

At first I was not amused.
But then it dawned upon me -

I am the one who came up with the joke first.

That's right.
I am the Joker.
Not Janis Kracht.
Nor Ross Cassell.
And most certainly not Gary Perkins.

Björn Felten merely went along with it, thinking it hilarious
when he read about my prank idea in a message from me to Robert
Basche.  Or it could have been my prelude to the joke, when I
had posted a parody of the Fidonews in this echo.

You see, Bob had been complaining, very loudly, that he did not like
the way Björn Felten had been conducting his business as editor and
moderator of the Fidonews.  So I suggested to Bob that he take over
as editor/moderator, and put out his own version of the Fidonews.

Bob replied that he was averse to doing such work, as that would
really mess up his day.  Well, it would have been unkind of me to tell
Bob that the job of editor should be limited to Björn and Bob, even if
in separate editions, so I informed him that anybody could be
editor/moderator.  Anybody at all.  We could have a Björn Felten
edition of the Fidonews, a Bob Basche edition of the Fidonews, a Ward
Dossche edition of the Fidonews, a Michiel van der Vlist edition of the
Fidonews, even a Lee Lofaso edition of the Fidonews.

Anyway, to make a long story short, Gary Perkins chose to put out his
own version of the Fidonews, with himself as editor (and presumably
moderator, although I am not sure how that works as Ross Cassell claims
to be the moderator of the Gary Perkins edition of the Fidonews).

To think somebody actually took one my jokes seriously, and acted on
that joke as if it was a blueprint for success.  Ross Cassell must have
put Gary Perkins up to it.  Or maybe Janis Kracht.  I just cannot
believe Gary Perkins fell for it.  And yet he did.  Hook, line, and
sinker.  :)

Meaning of the Beatles' song, "Come Together" -

The song, "Come Together", was written by John Lennon, originally
intended for Timothy Leary, who was planning to run for political
office, with "Come Together" being his campaign theme.  However,
Leary got arrested before he could begin his campaign.  So Lennon
decided to record the song as a Beatles' tune, the subject being
the Beatles themselves (the 1st verse about Ringo, the 2nd verse
about George, the 3rd verse about John, the 4th verse about Paul).
This was all done at the same time that Paul McCartney died in a
car crash, hence the "One and one and one is three" line in the
fourth verse.  Notice the "Come together right now over me" being
an allusion to the other three Beatles attending Paul McCartney's
secret funeral.
