Just some nonsense that I felt was important to reply to, in FIDO_SYSOP:.. :(

You would be fully linked with anyone in Fidonet in any case <smile>

Right.. I knew about the problems with Ward.  I certainly wanted to make the
point that there is no break in "all the echomail" as Bjorn has insinuated.

Yes, it is the North American Backbone, who is tired of Bjorn's nasty and
demeaning attitude toward people who either live in North America or support
Zone 1.  The NAB includes my system. The three of us are indeed Star systems in
Zone 1, and as a matter of fact move a good number of Zone 2 echos as well.
Now, some of these are International echos like the Fidonews echo (FN_SYSOP,
et. al.) and some are not.

1. Herman, this is a hobby and it's supposed to be fun.  When Bjorn starts
treating people in Fidonet (some of whom do not even live in Zone 1) like dirt,
it is no fun anymore.  The three stars of the North American Backbone decided
we didn't want that stuff on our systems anymore.  Are you implying we do not
have the right to decide what we will carry and what we will not?

2. The NAB is not preventing any other distribution system (or any other sysop)
from distributing Bjorn's Fidonews, which 90% of the time was devoid of
content.  If you folks want to carry Bjorn's empty files and nasty toned echo,
go right ahead..... no one is stopping you.  If you folks need help in setting
it up, just ask.

1. I don't need to ask Ross, Herman.. The three systems that make up the Z1
Bacbone (NAB if you will) had to discuss this and make a decision because not
only were we ourselves disgusted with the situation, but many people in Fidonet
were disgusted as well.  It was not an easy decision.  We tried to come to an
agreement with Bjorn to just act like a human being, and if he couldn't the to
just turn over the position as moderator, and/or editor to someone else.  He
would have none of it. Our decision to limit access on our OWN backbone was
made with much reservation, so much so that we decided it would be temporary.
No, we have not said as Bjorn implies in enet.sysop that that we made a
decision to limit ALL echos to only Zone 1, and we have NOT decided it will be
permanent.  We simply removed temporarily the importing of echomail material
that we found distateful (and we weren't the only ones).

2. If you were reading the echo this past month or longer, you would know
exactly what was going on there.  Bob Bashe who doesn't even LIVE in the United
States was insulted beyond belief.  Anyone who disagreed with Bjorn and his
henchmen (Michiel van der Vlist) felt the wrath of Bjorn and Michael both in
the echo.  It certainly was obnoxious and horrendous...

Now, if you have not been reading the Fidonews echo, or even Fidonews in it's
empty state, why do you care? <sigh>
